Privacy Policy

Book Clwb is a personal reading tracker. This page explains, in plain English, what information the app holds, why, and what control you have over it.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, your password (stored securely by our sign-in provider, never in readable form), the display name you choose and your profile icon.
• Your reading data: the books you add, your progress, reviews and ratings, your Library, your Book Log, and a record of the pages you log on each day.
• Pocket Pages: if you use this private feature, the text of an EPUB you upload and your reading position in it. It is tied to your account and is not shared with other users.

How it is used

Only to run the app for you: to sign you in, keep your books and progress in sync across your devices, and send a password reset email when you ask for one. We don’t sell your data, show adverts, or use analytics or tracking tools.

Who handles it

• Supabase provides the database and sign-in, so your account and reading data are stored with them.
• Google Fonts supplies the app’s typefaces. Loading them means your device’s IP address is sent to Google.
• jsDelivr serves a small code library the app uses to open EPUB files, which also means your IP address is seen by them when it loads.

On your device

The app saves a few small settings in your browser, such as dark mode, which screen you were on, and a temporary copy of some data so it keeps working when your connection is poor. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data is kept for as long as you have an account. You can delete a single book at any time, and you can close your account from your Profile (Close Account), which permanently deletes your data.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. Most of this you can do yourself in the app. For anything else, or if you have a question about this policy, contact bookclwb@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated.
